Level Of Economic Openness In The Perspective Of The World's Urban Construction Research

After holding Olympic Games, Beijing is in the transitional period of social and economic. In this period, Beijing government sets the goals of building a world city. Openness is the essential attribute and the main characteristics of the world city. Therefore, improving the level of economic openness is a key aspect to ascend rank of the world city. The purpose of this paper is through the analysis of Beijing's current level of economic openness, proposing suggestions of enhancing the level of economic openness to accelerate the pace of building a world city for Beijing. This theory will adopt method of International Comparative, theory study, literature consult to set up the comparative study framework of world cities, regional cities and national center cities and to draw on the successful experience and ideas of the world city foreign economic development and to enhance economic competitiveness of Beijing. Through constructing the framework of indicator system, Beijing, New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Guangzhou's lever of economic openness are compared. The conclusion is that Beijing is at the national center city stage in the pattern of global cities. And Beijing is also in the transitional period from a national center city to a regional city through the process of internationalization. At this stage, Beijing's elements gathered force is stronger than economic radiation force. But the overall level of elements gathered force and economic radiation force of Beijing is behind the world city and the regional city.
