An Study On Economic Spatial Structure Of Lanzhou-xining City-and-town Concentrated Area

Regiona l economic space structure refers to the mutual interaction and mutual relationsof Socio-economic object, and reflect the scale and morphology of spatial agglomeration ofobjects and phenomenon, Which are an important aspect of the essence of the state ofregiona l development. Meantime it is also an indica tor to identify the state of regiona ldevelopment from the perspective of spatial distribution and organization. Regiona leconomic space structure is evolving, with changes to the trend of rationa liza tion andadvancement. Therefore, the problems about economic spatial structure should bediscovered timely, and it will improve the regiona l economic space structure by theadjustment and the right strategic choices .As the most vigor and potentia l areas among regiona l economy development patterns,City-and-town Concentrated Areas(CCA) are pla ying the roles of strategic center ofsustena nce, growth pole and core pitch point in the regional productive forces distribution,displa ying gathering and diffusing function of regional produc ing element flows, anddominating the life of regional economy development. At present, CCAs have become thebasic regiona l cells which the nation or region participate in globa l competition andinternationa l work-division. Since reform and opening in China, the CCAs development arevery rapid, and becoming the most developing spatial cell on level, speed, strength and vigorof China economy development, However, the study area ma inly focus in the eastern andcentral regions, the study on the northwest inla nd city-and-town concentrated area isrelatively sma ll.The paper take the Lanzhou-Xining city-and-town concentrated area which located inthe less developed western regions as the research object, firstly, the paper hacklessystematica lly the research summa ry of regiona l economic space structure in china andabroad, and summa rizes the major theories and research results; Secondly, us ing thequalitative and quantitative methods, it defines the spatial extent of urban concentration areasby the three sides: the geographical integrity, the historica l and cultural and socio-economicties; thirdly, it analyzes the economic disparities of Lanzhou-Xining city-and-townconcentrated area based on the ESDA spatial autocorrelation, and uses principal componentanalysis to measure 35 towns in the study area; Fourth, it grades 35 counties of the city-andtownconcentrated area using central functions index, and explore s the economic space links of city-and-town concentrated area from the economic ties intensity of towns and the scopeof the economic irradiation; Finally, it revea ls the problems of economic space developmentin city-and-town concentrated area based on the above analysis , and puts forward theoptimization countermeasures and safeguards of economic spatial structure in Lanzhou-Xining city-and-town concentrated area.
