The study of tourism competitiveness is one of the frontier fields in modern tourism study. It is not until the late 1990s that Chinese scholars began to research. Now, rural tourism has a huge market in china, and is developing rapidly. At the same time, it brings a strong impetus to rural economy. However, the research of theoretical basis of rural tourism is not mature, especially the research of rural tourism competitiveness.This article attempts to study competitiveness of rural tourism base of the theory of competitiveness. After read many data aboard and domestic, this article defined the basic concepts of rural tourism, rural tourism competitiveness and so on, and analyzed the theoretical and affecting factors of rural tourism competitiveness by applying the basic theories and methods of economies, tourism science and sustainable development, and designed my conceptual model of rural tourism competitiveness reference to Porter's diamond model and Geoffrey I. Crouch & J. R. Brent Ritchie's seven-factor model of destination competitiveness, and the last established a set of rural tourism competitiveness evaluation index system according to certain principles.AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method is selected to evaluate tourism competitiveness of Beijing and Shanghai, Chengdu, Tianjin, and then analyzed the results to know the problems in development of Beijing rural tourism. Finally, the author proposes five strategies to enhance the rural tourism competitiveness of Beijing.
