As we entered 21 century, peace and development have become the world mainstream, at the same time fast progress of science and technology has brought about the prosperity of human civilization. There is an increasing realization of the importance of traveling for relaxation among the masses. In that situation, traveling has become one of fashionable living style, which accelerates rapid growth of international tourism.Since opening-up and innovation, Chinese tourism has experienced fast growth for 20 years and developed into a significant part of national economy. According to World Tourism Organization, an affiliate of the United Nations, forecasting that China will become the largest country for tourists reception and the fourth largest region for generating visitors by 2020. At that time, China is expected to receive 13 billions of foreign visitors one year with its own traveling-abroad tourists reaching 10 billions.The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bordering to the north with both the Republic of Mongolia and Russia, is the widest province in China (by its latitude). It is the third largest Chinese province (over 1.1 million square kilometers or 424,736 square miles) but not very populated. The province has about 24 million inhabitants. Inner Mongolia has a peculiar natural scenery, long history and brilliant culture. There are many historic sites in this area. What is most attractive about Inner Mongolia is its natural beauty. Vast grasslands, including the Xilamuren Grassland, Gegentala Grassland and Huitengxile Grassland are all good places for a grassland experience. The mushroom-like yurts,bright sky, fresh air, rolling grass and the flocks and herds moving like white clouds on the remote grassland, all contribute to making the scenery a very relaxing one.Tourism industry of Inner Mongolia has set a good foundation after twenty years'development. The number of star-level hotels in Inner Mongolia has reached to 202, and the number of travel agencies has been up to 404 by 2005. Foreign exchange income of tourism is 35billion US dollars, and the total number of tourism income is 2080 billion RMB, which account for 5.45% of GDP,providing 95 thousand employments. Inner Mongolia has developed from a region with large variety of tourism resources into area fulfilled with tourists attractions.This article analyzed Inner Mongolian tourism from the perspective of industry economics. The quality of Inner Mongolian tourism is still in a low level. There many urgent problems need to solve. What kind of method could we use to keep Inner Mongolian tourism continuous growing in a more healthy way? How to sale Inner Mongolian tourism products in a more effective way among competitors? What we should do in order to integrate Inner Mongolian tourism resources into attractive experiences? The author presented a new strategy on the development of tourism industry of Inner Mongolia. That is driving strategy of outstanding products.
