The hotel development strategy is the combination of the development goal and all kinds of tactics established on the base of analysis on the hotel's exterior environment and interior condition in order to retain or increase its competition power in the market. With the development of the society and the economy, the competition environment of the market is becoming more complex and changing more quickly. How to constitute its long-term goal and optional strategy in order to accelerate the sustainable and healthy development of the hotel has been the question that modern enterprise must seriously research on and ravel out.Huaxi district of Guiyang has relatively long tour tradition and the advantage of having abundant tour resources. The star tourist hotels in it have got quite great progress with the rise of the tourism, and played a significant role to the further growth of the tourism in this district, also made important contribution to the local economic development and the advance of people's standard of living in the tour areas. But these hotels still have many problems in their development. The main problems are: 1. the quantity of star tourist hotels is small and not fit in with the actuality that both the tourists' number and tourism incomes of Huaxi district are on the front of scenic areas of Guizhou province and continuously increasing. 2. The grade of the star tourist hotels is low and not suit with the location of Huaxi district and the increasing multilevel demand of service quality. 3. The existing star tourist hotels haven't well accomplished their function. The tourists who want to stay over are less, the hotels' rate of empty room is high and their revenues can't be guaranteed, their managers are changed frequently, the hotels' sustainable development have many difficulties, and so on. The reasons are undoubtedly various. This thesis considers: consumers' behavior is becoming more rational, tourism development is becoming more mature, and competition in the hotels market is becoming more severe. Facing the greatly changing management environment, the star tourist hotels in Huaxi district of Guiyang city must establish and bring into effect correct development strategy if they want to achieve their sustainable development. This thesis has collected much first-hand information by the means of field survey. On the base of concrete description of the actuality and main problems in the development of the star tourist hotels in Huaxi district, analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats they faced with the SWOT method. At last advancing that these hotels should make enough use of their region advantage, take the customers as orientation, take the resources as center, form their core competition power with preponderant resources by resources integration, to grow up together as a union, for the sake of promoting their sustainable and healthy development in the environment which becomes more complex and change more quickly. The concrete measures include: to actively research on the consumers' demand and find out the room to grow; to attach importance to the persons with ability and increase the staff's loyalty; to pay attention to economizing the energy resources and lowering the consumption and establishing green hotels; to pay attention to the use of high-tech products to promote the hotels' development; to construct the culture brand and build up the hotels' image, then put into action.
