China is witnessed a continuously growing demand in energy products with its rapid development of economy. And great changes have taken in the supply and demand price of the key energy products. Therefore, the restriction brought by the energy products to economy development emerged and becomes more and more obvious. How to correctly deal with the relationship between energy and economy and how to grasp the mechanism between energy consumption and transition of industrial structure are of great real significance without doubt under this kind of background. This determines not only the establishment of the short term, medium and long-term energy development strategy in China but also relates to the future orientation of industrial structure and the quality of economy development of the whole country.Based on the above concerns, the article is started with the industry sectors. On the basis of the changing tendency and basic characteristics of energy consumption in the main areas in industry sector of China, the article demonstrates and analyzes the quantization relationship between industry energy consumption, industry output and industrial energy efficiency, reviews the long term balance and short term dynamic adjustment between the energy consumption in the main areas and the industry growth, as well as initially demonstrate the reliability of industry growth to the energy and the specific features of energy consumption.The article reviews the impact to the overall industrial energy intensity from structure adjustment in industrial sector and the improvement of energy efficiency in industries by using the complete factor decomposition model. Based on this, the article also conducts measurement on the substituting indexes of the energy consumption efficiency in the main areas in industry sector, from which we can see the differences and changes of energy efficiency in these areas.In view of the exceptional changes existing in the statistics of energy and related indexes in China, the article starts with rough modification of the sample data and establishes the panel co-integration model of energy consumption in eleven areas in industry sector. The outcome demonstrates the existence of a long-term balance relationship between energy consumption, industry growth and energy efficiency, as well as reviews how related factors influence energy consumption and how much it influences on it.Based on the above review, the article tests the short-term adjusting effects of long-term balanced energy consumption in China through panel error correction model and analyzes the dynamic organism of the short-term influence of these factors, which gives a further demonstration of the basic characteristics in these areas.In conclusion, based on the outcome of demonstration and analysis, the article delivers suggestions on energy consumption in China, which are believed to be positive reference and inspiration for China to make future strategies in industrial structure adjustment and long-term energy strategy, as well as take short-term measures to relief the energy shortage in China.
