This article gives an analytical survey of the market competitive environmentfaced by the retail industry in the city of Hohhot by starting from an examination ofthe current state of play in the retail industry in this city in conjunction with theeconomic outlooks, and the business market and competition settings that are bearingon the city's retail industry, to demonstrate a pattern of development trends and seekto explore the ways forward for the city's retail industry, proposing certainapproaches of ideas for the next phase in the development of the retail industry in thecity of Hohhot, and from which strategic planners of relevant retail companies maydraw certain object lessons.Chapter one gives a descriptive examination of the current state of play andindustry trend of the retail business in the city Hohhot, describing the retail industryin the city from the perspectives of business environment, industry structure, andtypical business setting, and so on.Chapter two employs an investigative study on the causal relationships of theenvironmental factors, to analyze the effects from such issues as economic outlooks,changes in domestic consumption and income levels that are bearing on the retailindustry, providing systematic intelligence for the retail industry under the broadercontext of major economic development. The data used in this chapter are sourcedfrom the retail industry and relevant macro economic data and research studies.The third chapter is an analysis of the competitive environment which is anapplication of exploratory study method in conjunction with a descriptive survey toanalyze the problems that existed in the business community and the retail industryin the city of Hohhot, giving a reasonably comprehensive overview of the state ofplay, comparative advantages and disadvantages, as well as developmentorientations, of the contending players in the retail industry in the city, providing apoint of reference for planners in all retail businesses when formulating their market positioning and strategic plans.Chapter four on the development trend of the retail industry is a forecastingstudy, which by expanding on the previous results, Revealing the problems thatremain in the retail industry in the city of Hohhot,and challenge it faced,offering apractical approach on studying the next phase of development in the retail industry inthe city of Hohhot.
