Guangdong Province In The Pan-prd Regional Economic Cooperation And Impetus

The economic cooperation of the Pan Pearl Delta region has already entered the material implementation phase from discussion on the theory. As the strongest province in the region, Guangdong province is in a superior place, and its system is perfect relatively. Taking Guangdong province as the example, the paper analysis the position of Guangdong province in the economic cooperation of the Pan Pearl Delta region from the perspective of spatial which is geographical characteristic.The following conclusions are summarized:(1)Through the data of GDP from 2000 to 2005, the author have compared the economic status of each province in the region and determined that the Guangdong province would be the economic center of the 9 provinces in the Pan Pearl Delta region at present and in the future. The paper not only has determined the first class of the central position of Guangdong province's urban regions and industry regions, but has discussed the Guangdong province's condition of resource of labour force and human population's transmission in the region. Combined with the Guangdong province's historical culture and geopolitical position, thinking about the position of the Hong Kong and Macao in the economic cooperation of the Pan Pearl Delta region, the paper have fixed Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao as the main core area, Guangdong province as the component part of region's center.(2)Based on core—periphery theory, the paper discussed four promotion effects which are diffusion, decision, investment, immigration of Guangdong province. These specifically embody in the follow aspects: the project investment of other provinces whose economic power is inferior to Guangdong province is mainly in Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi and Guizhou. Therefore, Guangdong province invests for these areas through Industrial Migration. Investment projects to other provinces from Guang dong are concentrates in two aspects: the construction of infrastructure and the industry manufacture.(3) Because of the neglect of Hong Kong and Macao's vital role, there is large deviation in the understanding of the Position of Guangdong province in the economic cooperation of the Pan Pearl Delta region. During the period of the region's economic cooperation, there is large disparity between the theory and practice on the promotion effect.Based on the statistics' analysis, the research achievement of this pa per reflects the position of the Guangdong province, and has some significance for similar analysis. Though the analysis on the application of core-periphery theory is not thorough, which is an attempt and has a certain reference value.
