| As the eastern terminal of the new Eurasian Land Bridge, Lianyungang port has been improving the foreign trade of its hinterland with the advantage of the Longhai-Lanxin railway. This paper analyzes Lianyungang port and its hinterland quantitatively and qualitatively based on the Lianyungang port data and relative theory. It puts forwards that Lianyungang port has a close connection with its hinterland, which can be mutually advanced only by coordinated development. Hence, construction of Lianyungang port is required by the development of the foreign trade of our whole country, especially its hinterland. Lastly, this paper takes some famous ports home and abroad as example and puts forward some countermeasures and proposals in both macroscopic and microscopic view to improve the Lianyungang's serve function. As to the government, it should increase its working efficiency and provide more preferential treatment for the port. While Lianyungang port should develop itself in the following aspects: accelerating the build-up of port facilities, optimizing the business method, developing off-port trade, enlarging port feeder system, building public information terrace and establishing synthesis free trade zone. |
