According to the overall strategy of development in our country, China is going to accomplish Industrialized Progress by the year of 2020. And in the year of 2050, China is expected to be ranged among the medium developed countries. The steel industry of China must seize the opportunity, expedite the technical reform and structural adjustment, complete managerial system and enhance the competitive capacity. ZhongYuan Steel Company, a large-scale state-owned steel company, has realized great development in the recent years. With expanding of the production capacity, the requirement of Human Resources Management also enhances. The original compensation system can't adapt the new environment gradually. As the core part of Human Resources Management, the compensation system plays an essential role in aspects as realizing the business strategy, gathering talents as well as raising the efficiency of organization. This thesis attempts to re-design the compensation system of ZhongYuan Steel Company by using broad banding compensation through the analysis of its original compensation system, so as to study the application and effect of broad banding compensation system in ZhongYuan Steel Company.The thesis first introduces the main compensation theories both in and abroad and gives a brief introduction to research about broad banding compensation. Then, it analyzes the basic conditions and existing compensation system of ZhongYuan Steel Company. It also discusses the feasibility of broad banding compensation in ZhongYuan Steel Company. In the main part, the basic frame, process and proposal of designing broad banding compensation system in ZhongYuan Steel Company are stated. The last part of this thesis is conclusion and outlook, which explains the weakness of this program and states the expectation of compensation reform in ZhongYuan Steel Company.
