This paper analyzes the leadership behavior of JMC, such as goals, measurable indicators and plans, participation of leaders and their promised support, management communication and change, replication of the best practice, the rational proposals and the VSM analysis, etc. It explains that the role of leadership under the lean production transforms from the traditional role, such as giving orders, simple appraisal to the lean behavior role, and more emphasis on leaders'support, such as providing resources, advocating problem solution, preventive maintenance, and the leaders'demonstrative role, etc. The paper points out that under the existing environment and conditions, the leadership model of JMC for lean production is consistent with the contingency leadership theory, and also in line with the latest "Team leadership" theory, and it is gradually moving toward the "transformational leadership" style. Meanwhile, the paper points out the shortcomings of leadership behavior in JMC and ways for improvement.
