Application Research On Lean Production Of Heraeus Shinetsu Quartz (China) Inc

Lean Production (LP) originally generates from Japane and its theory has formed by western country. LP combines the virtue of mass-produce and single-produce to realize the excellent quality with low cost at mass-produce system. The concept of LP was published in1990, from that time those developed country start to study and research it. Today, LP has not only a stype of production but a sort of management thinking and philosophy.Mannagement theory is different from theorem of natural science which is applicable to worldwide. It must be matching with economy and humanity atmosphere of a country. Mr. ONO’s description in his book, Toyota Production System,"our original intention was to find a manner of production which specific suit to Japanese economic atmosphere and was difficult to learn and copy by other facility of developed country, even not to leave a whole frame of the theory. Therefore, any company of China want to entirely copy the mode of those developed country must be difficult and easy to be failed.The aim of the thesis is to get much useful experience of LP conducting and find further improving opportunity, through researching the case of LP implementing at Heraeus ShinEtsu Quartz (China) Inc. in the past10years. Especially to sum-up the company’s achieving and lossing in LP management as a meaningful reference information for the domestic manufacturing industry.Of course, all effective practice depends on sufficient theory to support. The thesis is started from the theory studying of LP:LP developed and developing at worldwild, formed theoretics, LP instrument and tools, etc. Then meaningfully review the successful points of LP implemented at Heraeus ShinEtsu Quartz (China) Inc, Basic Constructing,5S Management, Kanpan Management, JIT, Logistic System Improving, TQM and TPM. After that, analyse and point out its disadvantage at Raw Material Storage Management, Supplier Management, First Article Management and Drawing Standardization. Suggest and recommend resolvent is issued at the same time. It is said by Deng Xiaoping, the prior President of China,’to keep on developing is the reliable theory’. At the end of the thesis, LP strategic target of the company in the coming10years has been determined.
