Based the methods of Post-project Evaluation, the article appraised the aftereffects of the accomplished ISA smelt technological renovation project in Yunnan Copper. It was carried out the appraisal on the following aspects: project management, project engineering, project commissioning, and the evaluation of the achieve targets, economic benefits, social benefits and so on. The post-project evaluations is no longer just focused on financial analysis and evaluation of effectiveness but also carried out the comprehensive analysis and evaluation on the latest developments such as "green", "innovation" and "sustainable development"." Post-project Evaluation " refers to an objective analysis of the completed projects or planning purposes, the process of implementation and effectiveness, role and impact of the system. Through the practice of investment activities inspection summary investment is expected to determine whether the objective achieved, Project planning is reasonable or effective, the main indicator of achieving efficiency. Through analysis and evaluation to identify the causes of success and failure, lessons learned, through timely and effective information feedback, for future projects to improve decision-making and improve the investment decision-making. Meanwhile, it is useful to improve investment benefits by means of assessing implementation of the project have been operational issues arising from the proposals for the improvement. Post-project evaluation methods are include in the "Before and After Comparison Law" and the "Availability of Comparative Law". This paper mainly uses the "Availability of Comparative Law" as the method of analysis on the selected project. As a selected project for study, the " ISA smelt technological renovation project" was the largest process modification project in the history of Yunnan Copper Corporation. The core smelting technology was introduced by the XSTRATA Technology Corporation of Australia. The main targets of this project were to enhance the level of technology and equipment, to save the energy consumption and to expand the production capacity. Project began in 1997 and completed in 2002. Operation so far, it was proved to be the most successful example of the construction and transformation in the worldwide top-blown smelting process. Isa furnace technology projects commissioned, the major economic indicators have reached the international advanced level. The first campaign of the Isa furnace created the new world record among the same furnace type. The major environmental protection facilities operated well and good indicators were achieved completely. The Sustainable Development Strategy of Yunnan Copper has laid a solid foundation now. In 2004 the "Isa copper technology applications and innovative project " obtained the First Class of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Technology Advancement Award, and the First Class of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Yunnan Province. It was also won the Second Class of the National Science and Technology Advancement Award in 2006.Currently, there does little domestic and foreign research on the Post-project Evaluation of the nonferrous metallurgy projects by means of the "green" and "innovation" theory. This paper to be adopted this philosophy and methods into the pyro-metallurgical process project of Yunnan Copper for the summary, analysis and evaluation. Author expect it will be significative the project of the metallurgical engineering modifications. Meanwhile, it may be helpful to be as the basic guidance and advices of the future that Yunnan Copper go abroad to seek greater innovation, achieving sustainable development.
