Business Selection And Positioning Of Engineering Design And Research Institute Of Sichuan University

Universities design institutes are not only the component of universities' scientific industry, but also the main part of investigation design industry. As the platform of industry and research, universities design institutes have mae a grate contribution to servicing society, technology innovation, cultivating talented persons, promoting teaching and research. However, with the change of industry reform and market environment, the development problems of universities design institutes have revealed gradually, especially on the unclear property right relations, the unfixed strategic position, "small but integrated, dispersive resource", lack of personality. Besides, another important reason is the selected position of main special field is not clear. Therefore, analyzing objectively the problems of universities design institutes business development and choosing rationally the main design field and grasping the objective law of their development can promote the reform of universities design institutes organization and accelerate the improvement of universities scientific industry, which have a significant meaning.Based on the above problems, this paper takes universities design institutes business strategic development as the research object and Sichuan University Engineering Design Institute where the author works, adopts the comparative method and research on the specialized development direction and organization reform model. The main contents are:1. Research on interior and exterior factors which influence the development of universities design institutes carefully.2. Research on the character of universities design institutes.3. Research on the organization model and specialized business development direction of universities design institutes.The result of research indicates that establishing the reasonable business strategic development especially the specialized development direction is not only the foundation of investigation design industry during the transformation period, but also the focus on the new reform of investigation design industry. Universities design institutes should choose the suitable organization form and specialized development model according to their own personalities to develop and make core abilities.
