The Strategic Analysis Of EPC Model With The Design Institute Core And Cooperation

With the deepening of China’s reform and accelerating the process of internationalization, the competition of market becomes fiercely. It becomes a major concern to project stakeholders that the design institute how to survive and develop in the market competition, the owner how to get more comprehensive and efficient service. The EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) model with the design institute core appears based on the demand of the project owner and the design institute. The EPC mode becomes the one of the mainstream model in the market with the superiority of full-service, resource allocation, and comprehensive benefit. How to play the central role, to overcome shortcomings, to transform the strengths into advantages have been placed in the front of the design institute.The EPC mode with the design core can well control the duration, cost, quality, safety, technology and other factors of the project, but its realization affected by many factors, and through the EPC mode analysis of project contracting cooperation in order to improve the effectiveness of project cooperation. In this paper, EPC mode, engineering project, game theory and other aspects of the theoretical literature at home and abroad are summarized to understand the issue and its progress in research. It analyzes the cooperative behavior and the relationship of the project owner and the design institute in the EPC mode. It analyzes the EPC project mode from definition, feature, distinction and advantage, and at the same time it also analyzes the design institute from the relevant concept, the structural characteristic and the advantage. This paper divides stakeholders based on the characteristic of EPC project cooperative behavior and proposes the owner and design institute cooperation evolutionary model, the design institute and subcontractor cooperation evolutionary model. It analyzes the game model, the relevant variable and the evolutionary path, and then it makes a duplicated analysis on affecting factors of project cooperation. It analyzes the situation, opportunity, and challenge of the Cscec Aecom Consultants Co., Ltd, and then it proposes the countermeasures and suggestions to realize the EPC mode, to promote the transformation of the design institute and to play the important role of the design institute.To study the EPC project cooperation with the core of the design institute, this paper applies the game theory to the realization of EPC project, and it analyzes the factors of project cooperation based on the cooperation evolutionary model. It’s not just focusing on the qualitative level of analysis. It improves the effectiveness of the project cooperation and the achievement of project goal under the EPC model.
