This thesis focuses on the research on and formulation of strategies by E&M Equipment Engineering LTD., a distributor of building automation (BA) products. It begins with a review of the current BA marketplace and the history of Doyen as a distributor of BA products. Chapter 2 evaluates the current market situations within the framework of Michael Porter's 5 forces model for industry analysis. Chapter 3 is the SWOT analysis of Doyen, diagnosing its strength and weakness, pinpointing both opportunities and threats faced by Doyen. Chapter 4 discusses the strategic direction Doyen chooses, based on the result of analysis done in previous chapters. Chapter 5 is the summary. As a distributor of imported BA products, Doyen finds that the formulation and execution of suitable strategies is of vital importance to ensure its organic and sustained growth. As the founder and president of Doyen, I want to apply what I learned from my EMBA program to my work and share my insight with both my colleagues and classmates.
