Modern Harmonious Consumption Concept

Consumption, an essential part of the modern society, is of great significance not only to the existence of human kind but also to social progress. When we are advocating a harmonious society, harmonious consumption tends to be an important field of research. People's concept of consumption embodies some kind of value or attitude. Nowadays people's idea toward consumption has changed dramatically, and phenomenon of unharmonious consumption followed too. Therefore, there is needed to make deeper researches on the concept of harmonious consumption. Here the developing of consumption idea will be systematically described and a new concept of consumption, i.e. the concept of harmonious consumption, is advocated in view of various unharmonious consuming phenomena in modern society. It analyzes its essence, basic content and its final establishment, holding that modern concept of harmonious consumption aims to promote people's all-round development and tap human's potential strength, which is in accordance with socialistic productive relation and the organic unity of consumptive trend, way and structure.This paper studies the problem of harmonious consumption with five parts. The first part mainly introduces the developing of modern consumption concept in the aspect of Chinese traditional consumption concept, western consumption concept and that of Marxism overally and the interpretation of its ideological base. The second part points out the great significance of establishment of harmonious consumption concept after an analysis of its diversity and kinds of unreasonable consuming phenomenon nowadays. Study on the essential problem and main characteristics of modern harmonious consuming idea from the angle of the relationship between man and nature, man and society composes the third part. The fourth part analyzes its basic contents, including the main idea and principle. The last part introduces the way and method to the full establishment of such a concept deep in the mind of human, i.e. the problem of practicing the concept of harmonious consumption.
