Based on briefly introducing the theory of ecological footprint and the analysis of the current studies on ecological footprint, the paper established models for calculating hotel's ecological footprint. Then taking five mid-range and luxury hotels in Qingdao as examples, the paper calculated and tried to analyze the ecological footprint of energy, water, food, linens, paper products, guest supplies, waste and hotel's built-up area. Moreover the paper studied contrastively different hotel's ecological footprint of rooms division, food & beverage department and the total. The results of the research show:The hotel's rate is higher, hotel's ecological footprint and the average per person ecological footprint is larger,as well as hotel's ecological efficiency.Food's ecological footprint in hotel is the largest, the second is energy. The size and the structure of food's ecological footprint are involved with style of cuisine. The average per person ecological footprint of Chinese cuisine is 3.36 times of western-style cuisine in researched hotel. The hotel's rate is higher, the floor space of average per room is larger, but ecological footprint of average per room's built-up area doesn't relate to hotel's rate.In order to reduce hotel's ecological footprint and improve hotel's ecological efficiency, the following measures should be taken:developing staff's and guests' environment consciousness, refining cost control, using biological energy and energy-saving product, decreasing food waste, decreasing wastage of linens and consumption of disposable supplies.
