Strategic Adjustment Of Multinational Investment In China And Chinese Industrial Clusters And Upgrade

This thesis, by referring to theories at home and abroad on multinational corporations, industrial clusters and producer services, aims to do the research on pushing effects of foreign investments' trend and strategy adjustment of multinational corporations under the background of economic globalization on Chinese industrial clusters and upgrading. It gives a comprehensive illustration of aforementioned pushing effects in the clue of relevant theoretical research on multinational corporations, industrial clusters and producer services and on the theoretical basis of positive analysis of the current situation and strategy adjustment of foreign investment. Taking a China state-class economic development zone ~ Jinqiao Export Processing Zone (JQEPZ) as an instance, it introduces that producer services came into existence in given places as the situation of industrial clusters upgrading of multinational corporations required and put forward detailed countermeasures and advices on promoting foreign investment of multinational corporations.This paper covers four parts. Chapter one concludes the theoretic research on international investment and industrial clusters of multinational corporations under the background of economic globalization, which takes a brief overview of the theoretic research on multinational corporations, international investment & industrial clusters and combs the process of logical deduction of theories on industrial clusters ranging from the theoretic research on multinational corporations to evolution and improvement of theories on industrial districts - new industrial districts - industrial clusters. Chapter two evaluates the current situation and trend of foreign investment in China through positive analysis, which mainly highlights pushing effects of multinational corporations on Chinese industrial clusters and upgrading. Chapter three elaborates the current situation, motives, trend and characteristics of producer services in China after introducing the issue on industrial upgrading spurred by multinational corporations. Chapter four, taking JQEPZ as an example, gives specific evaluation of JQEPZ's strengths and weaknesses in attracting multinational corporations of producer services by researching the strategy adjustment of multinational corporations and the characteristics of industrial clusters and upgrading within JIEPZ, therefore putting forward concrete countermeasures on the investment attraction, made by China state-class economic development zones, of multinational corporations of producer services.
