Since Arkwright built the first rural spinning factory on the Derwent Valley, a large number of industrialist with spirit of charity and Social responsibility, such as David Dale, Robert Owen and Titus Salt, had started industrial practices with the meanings of social charity. These industrialists improved the workers' working conditions to meet their basic needs, and carried out a series of material and spiritual cultural development.
