The Influencing Factors Of The Growth Of Private Manufacturing Enterprises In An International Perspective Study

On the basis of international economics, international trade, technology economics and innovation economics, this thesis analyzes influencing factors of technological growth in Chinese private enterprises, This article has some significance in practically to the development of Chinese private enterprises.This article analyses correlative theories and research of technological growth thoroughly, and researches technological growth approaches, then the article constructs the selecting model of exogenous technological growth approaches in different stages of corporate lifecycles under internationalization perspective. According to the previous study the thesis works out the factors which influence the technological growth of enterprises. They are exterior influencing factors (FDI Technology Spillovers, Government R&D expenditure, degree of market openness and Intellectual property rights protection) and interior influencing factors (enterprises' R&D expenditure, technology absorptive capability, foreign technique acquisition and human capital investment), and eight relevant indexes which can measured are proportion of FDI in domestic investment, amendatory index of GP, enterprises' technology expenditure, proportion of scientist and engineer in work force, expenditure for foreign technique acquisition and technology personnel.In the end, the thesis analyzes the technological growth of enterprises with the data in Hunan Province, and makes an empirical analysis about the relation of selected factors and the technological growth in Hunan's private manufacturing enterprises (1997～2006) using correlation analysis and multi-linear regression model.Through theory study and empirical study, the main conclusions which the thesis obtained are: (1) The private enterprises can select different exogenous technological growth patterns according to their different stages of lifecycles with different funds and capabilities. (2) According to the current situations, Hunan's capabilities of endogenous and exogenous technological growth are both weak, and under the average of the whole country. Looks from the internal and external conditions which becoming better, it is feasible to realize the exogenous technological growth by trading in foreign technology market. Therefore, Hunan government should organizes more communications with foreign countries and invest more in science and technology, and the enterprises should select appropriate exogenous technological growth patterns based on their own conditions. (3) The correlative coefficients between technological growth and government's S&T funding, degree of market openness, intellectual property rights protection, enterprises' R&D expenditure and human capital investment are very high. According to the results of stepwise regression, enterprises' R&D expenditure, human capital investment, degree of market openness and foreign technique acquisition can influent the technological growth in Hunan's private enterprises remarkably.
