With the development of economic globalization, the extensive application of information technology and the further adjustment of the world's industrial structure since the 1990s, the modern service outsourcing has rapidly become a new bright spot in the global economy. Cross-border service outsourcing first appeared in multinational companies. In order to focus on the core business, as well as to improve the allocation efficiency of production factors and resources, these companies intend to transfer their non-core businesses to the outsiders by signing the outsourcing contracts. The international inflow of services pushing by the cross-border service outsourcing has not only led to the worldwide re-development and re-configuration of many factors, such as labor, knowledge, culture and capital, but also caused the redistribution of the overflow value between districts and groups under the globalization process. This paper focuses on service outsourcing and can be divided into six chapters. In part one, we first of all introduce the research background and its significance. The second chapter applies five economic principles to analyze the causes and benefits of service outsourcing, and then reviews the relative literatures of service outsourcing from four aspects, noting the shortcomings of the existing literature and articles of innovation. The third chapter gives a clear definition and systematic classification of outsourcing from the business lines and geographical perspective. In part four, we get a general picture of the current international service outsourcing development status and trends from both sides of undertakers and transfers. In the following part, we have a elaborate comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of the outsourcing development of the BRICS by taking such factors as business types, outsourcing scales, service objects and the intellectual property protection into consideration. In the last section, this paper put forward some policy proposals for the development of China's outsourcing by summing up the successes and failures of BRICS' outsourcing development.
