Project Portfolio Management Business Diversification In The Implementation Of The Strategy Applied Research

Nowadays in business environment, most of enterprises, in the period of stable development, stay prepared against adversities in the time of peace. They regard diversification strategy as active choice, try to implement it to reduce operational risks and get profit in new business filed, which could reverse the tide of zero growth, and enhance enterprise competitiveness again. However, the practices of business diversification show that not all of the enterprises win at a profit, quite a few enterprises fall through. It may be summed up that, to a large extent, the success or failure depends on the diversification strategy implementing. Along with the business models, which tend to be projectization, enterprises always implement strategy through projects. Applying Project Portfolio Management (PPM) to the diversification strategy implementing, could carry out strategy at project level, improve the abilities of strategy implementing and achieve strategic aim of enterprise diversification.This thesis studies the theory of Project Portfolio Management and Diversification Strategy, with successful case study of PPM application, it researches to build a systematic dynamic feedback PPM process, with appropriate tools and techniques, which will realize activation link between strategy and projects. And it exploringly offers a dynamic Project Portfolio-Oriented mode for diversification strategy implementing, in favor of strategic business developing efficiently. Then based on PPM, the thesis deepens study to project portfolio risk, put forward the system of Project Portfolio Risk Management (PPRM) in Diversification Strategy; and emphasize the balance between income and risk, it constructs an model for PPM & PPRM under diversification strategy.
