Along with the gradually eased political environment across the Taiwan Strait, cross-strait economic and trade relationship between two sides becomes better and better. Especially at the end of 2008, direct cross-strait transport, postal and trade are truly realized. Cross-strait economic and trade exchanges have entered the "big three" era. It can be expected that economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait will be rapidly developed at an unprecedented speed. Economic and trade exchanges across the Taiwan Strait not only are based on but also promote the rapid development of cross-strait development of logistics. Since the Western Shore Economic Zone of the proposal was given, there were a number of logistics experts and scholars on the Western Shore Economic Zone suggesting how to develop the logistics. Realization of cross-strait "three links" brings a lot of hope to the future bilateral logistics cooperation, complementarities, and mutual benefit between the logistics enterprises on both sides. They are eager to expand further in-depth cooperation.In order to assist logistics co-operation across the Taiwan Strait in future, this paper studies a bit of the following aspects:First, it examines the status of cross-strait economic and trade development, and investigates the influence of trade to the economy by studying the contribution of trade to GDP.Second, it studies logistics development of cross-strait status; analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages of cross-strait logistics industry concluding that the two sides can complement and benefit each other through cooperation.Third, it positions the strategic objectives of logistics of cross-strait cooperation as a key logistics hub to promote the formation of the economic zone of the Straits, and to increase the influence of cross-strait logistics industry in East Asia and Western Pacific.Fourth, it uses hierarchical cluster analysis to divide the level of cross-strait ports; gives suggestions to the future cooperation and development of the divided three levels of the port; gives personal opinions on building cross-strait public logistics information platform, and what role may the government be in cross-strait logistics co-operation; gives suggestions on establishing cross-strait logistics industry associations, personnel training in cross-strait cooperation, et. al.
