Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is seriously harmful to human health as a common cardiovascular disease. The incidence rate of CHD in our country is lower than Europe and America area, but the mortality is close to the economy and developed countries. In recently years, there is raising trend on the incidence rate of CHD which is becoming the main cause of death in our country with the change of diet structure and living habits of people. With the constantly renewal of medical diagnostic methods and the extensively development of percutaneous coronary intervention and reconstructive vascular operation, the mortality decreased greatly. But more and more CHD patients live with illness, and how to improve their quality of life are more and more paid attention to. There has been rich experience in treatment of angina by Traditional Chinese medicine and achieved satisfactory effect to improve symptoms and quality of life of patients. Therefore, Traditional Chinese medicine has wide prospect on treatment of angina. Objective:This study is to observe the effect on clinical effectiveness and the influence on quality of life of patients with supplementing qi and activating blood circulation kind of Chinese medicine on curing coronary unstable angina pectoris by supplementing qi and activating blood circulation method.Method:The objects of research are 53 unstable angina pectoris patients who have been examined by the Dongfang Hospital. This is a random, not equal, matched control study. Which are divided into the treatment group and control group. Both groups are given western medicine routine therapy, the treatment group are given supplementing qi and activating blood circulation kind of Chinese medicine including Codonopsis Pilosula, astragalus membranaceus, Polygonatum Kingianum, red peony root, curcuma, safflower, peach kernel, danshen, angelica, largehead atractylodes rhizome, glycyrrhiza on the basis of western medicine for two weeks. To observe the change of clinical symptoms of angina, ECG reading, nitroglycerine stopped or decreased percentage, TCM symptoms, score of five dimensions of Seattle angina questionnaire including exertional scale, angina stability scale, angina frequency scale, treatment satisfaction, disease perception scale and the integral score in treatment group and control group before and after the treatment. Statistical Methods SPSS 17.0 software, Measurement data using t-test, calculators information using chi-square test, grading information is rank sum test.Results:(1) Clinical symptoms of angina curative effect:The treatment group shown 88.9%, the control group shown 65.4%. Their differences had statistical significance (P<0.05), and treatment group was better than the control group.(2) ECG curative effect:The treatment group shown 44.4%, the control group shown 42.3%, their differences had no statistical significance (P>0.05). (3) Nitroglycerine stopper or decreased percentage curative effect:The treatment group shown 77.8%, the control group shown 73.1%, their differences had no statistical significance(P>0.05).(4)TCM symptoms curative effect:The treatment group shown 88.9%, the control group shown 65.4%. Their differences had statistical significance (P<0.05), and the treatment group is superior to the control group.(5) Quality of life:After treatment, score in angina stability scale, angina frequency scale, treatment satisfaction, disease perception scale and the integral score compared with that before treatment in two groups, the results of P<0.05, suggesting that existence of significant difference within the group before and after the treatment; the comparison between two groups P<0.01, indicating the existence of significant difference between the latter two groups after treatment.Conclusions:1. The treatment group and the control group may improve clinical symptoms of angina, and TCM symptoms, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group.2. The treatment group and the control group can reduce consumption of nitroglycerin and improve ECG curative effect, their differences had no statistical significance.3. Both groups can improve quality of life of patients, the treatment group was significantly better than the control group. It is think to that there are more advantages in improving quality of life of patients with manifestation of Qi-deficiency and stagnation of blood by supplementing qi and activating blood circulation method.
