Objective: To research expression of basic fibroblast growth factor and its receptor in breast cancer newly microvessel .Methods: Observed 100 breast cancer cases,9 normal breast by immunohistochemistry , in situ hybridization technique and clinical investigation .Results:1.The location of bFGF and bFGF-R in breast cancer, bFGF expressed in both normal breast tissue and cancer tissue .bFGF were positively stained ,located predominantly in the proper and stroma of both normal breast and breast cancer and overexpression highly .bFGF were seen in the cytoplasm of microvessel endothelium .2. bFGF receptor were positively stained lowly in normal breast and highly in the proper and stroma of breast cancer (p<0.01).There was correlation between bFGF receptor expression and tumor grade ,stage ,lymph node metastasis ,tumor size and servival term ( p < 0.01 ). 3.Microvessel density (MVD) was significantly higher than that in node negative cancer ( p<0.01 ). bFGF-R correlated highly with MVD ( r=0.68,p<0.01). bFGF did not correlate with MVD ( r =o.38 ,p>0.05 ).Conclusion: bFGF receptor and microvessel density are an important and independent prognostic parameter for breast cancer .
