Backgrounds:Stroke is the serious disease that against the physical and mental health of humanity, also with high rate of morbidity, mortality and disability. Although stroke breaks out suddenly, but the pathological process grows slowly, and can be prevented. Nowadays the risk factors directly or indirectly associated with stroke, which is recognized by scholars at home and abroad are as follows:hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, coronary heart disease, hyperviscosity syndrome, cerebral arteriosclerosis, smoking, alcoholism, obesity, poor eating habits and so on. So to explore the effective, feasible, active interventions for the treatment of people with risk factors can control the increasing of the risk factors, thus reducing the incidence of stroke among people. TCM emphasizes the "concept of holism" and "pattern differentiation and treatment", which characterized by adjustment and improvement for the functional activities of zang-fu organs and qi-blood, the holistic functional state with the unity of physique and spirit, and the enhancement of adaptability to human society and natural environment. The comprehensive acupuncture method through adjusting meridians achieves the balance of yin-yang, so as to prevent the occurrence of stroke. It has a good effect, with less side effects, which is advisable for those who is not suitable for mass of drugs or who can not tolerate the long-term of medicinal therapy.Purposes:Our study is mainly for the people with risk factors, who accept comprehensive acupuncture therapy (body acupuncture, abdominal acupuncture, ear acupuncture, collateral pricking with bleeding, application therapy, etc.) and the influence to the onset of stroke after the interventional therapy. Methods:Select 440 standard cases with stroke risk factors as objects. Randomly divide the cases into groups as follows, according to the order of investigation time: 228 cases in treated group,212 cases in control group. The treated group accepts general theraputic method plus comprehensive acupuncture (body acupuncture, abdominal acupuncture, ear acupuncture, collateral pricking with bleeding, application therapy, etc.) as the interventional treapy. The control group only accepts general treatment. Observe the effect of two groups after the interventional therapy. The indexes of interventional effect that should be evaluated are the changes of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood glucose, blood lipid, body weight. It is the cumulative incidence of stroke in two groups among 3 years that should be observed. Results:For the treated group, the average systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, postprandial blood glucose and body weight are 131.55-129.72 mmHg (1mmHg=0.133kPa),82.77-79.85mmHg,6.74-5.82mmol/L, 9.08-8.34mmol/L,68.07-63.57kg. The data of the control group were 131.85-131.75mmHg,82.09-80.63mmHg,6.65-5.98mmol/L,9.06-8.72mmol/L, 67.07-65.89kg. The risk factors'values all decreased after the interventional treapy of comprehensive acupuncture. After the intervention of the various risk factors that decrease the value of both blood pressure and weight in the intervention group and control group there was significant difference (P<0.05), blood glucose was not significantly between the two groups difference (P> 0.05), but the treatment group and control group to compare their before and after intervention were significantly different (P<0.05). For the treated group, the cumulative incidence of stroke is 6% which is obviously lower than that 9%of the control group.Conclutions:The interventional trerapy of comprehensive acupuncture (body acupuncture, abdominal acupuncture, ear acupuncture, collateral pricking with bleeding, application therapy, etc.) curing people with risk factors for stroke, which has more significant effect than the interventional therapy of single teraputic method. By the way of comprehensive acupuncture's active intervention can significantly reduce the value of risk factors, thereby reducing the incidence of stroke.
