Sichuan Province, Historical And Cultural Heritage Protection And Management Of The Urbanization Process

The heritage conservation of a city shows the city's civilization largely. It must be deal properly with the relationship between modernization construction and heritage conservation, in the progress of urban development. It must be adequately respect for the history of urban development. Guaranteeing urban economic and social development in a high speed, the heritage conservation of a city must be protected at the same time.However, with the urbanization advancement speeding up, the protection of historical and cultural heritage becomes more and more urgent. The contradiction of economic development, urban renewal and the protection of cultural still exists. The damage of the heritage often occurs. Besides, the historical environment and the features to preserve the heritage continuously worsen. Underground sites need to be protected, because the underground cultural relics are seriously threatened by the capital construction. Traditional ancient villages and historical districts lack the infrastructure, and the decline of historical buildings begins to expedite . This paper takes Sichuan Province for example, analyzes some management cases of the protection of cultural and historic heritage, such as the project of the rescue protection of the Second Temple ancient buildings in Dujiangyan after disaster, the project of enforcement and repair of the North-South tower in Zhongjiang after disaster, the project of the rescue protection of the thousand-Buddha Cliffside Images after disaster, the protection of the historical and cultural towns of Chengdu, the project of the protection of the Leshan Giant Buddha, the project of the historical and cultural streets of Yibin, and Bronze Chariot Underearth of the Han Dynasty in Ziyang. At the same time, this paper refers to the experience of the historical and cultural protection and management in other countries, such as the United States, France, Britain, Italy and Japan. In the protection process, the government, professional organizations, media, nongovernmental organizations and some other social groups were analyzed and discussed. We can get some useful suggestions from them. At last , I hope this paper is useful to the historical and cultural protection in our country.
