Chinese School Children On The Current Development Of Dance Education

In recent years, dance education in public schools is still difficult to meet parents'and teenagers'demands of arts. Therefore, private dance schools and other dance training centers to meet the social needs are increasingly popular. Under such circumstance, every and each educator should deeply study the following topic:how to provide more effective services in the face of unprecedented prosperity of dance education. In this paper, the author surveys Jiangyin private dance school, attempts to summarize the advantages and shortcomings of the current private dance school, explore its education principles and suggests reasonable proposals to private dance schools in order to give a theoretical reference for the development of dance education.This article has four parts. Par One, Preamble, expounds the history of dance education for children in China, and its related concepts. Part Two, ChapterⅠ, elaborates the current dance education superiority in private schools in the respects of management, teaching, and teacher-student relationship. Part Three, ChapterⅡ, sums up the shortcomings concerning the deviation of concept, rigid mode of education, poor teaching materials, uneven professionalism of teachers, and a lack of effective mechanisms for monitoring, etc. Part Four, ChapterⅢ, combines the advantages and shortcomings of private dance schools, and describes the function of dance education and its related principles, and proposes "strengthening cooperation between public and private schools and inter-private schools collaboration; sharing resources; strengthening management and monitoring system; establishing dance school teaching and research groups; strengthening teacher training and educational research, manipulating specification and evaluation mechanism for dance teachers, "and so on.
