The thesis embraces two sections wholly. The basic status of the society and the Marriage customs at the times of the republic of China in Shandong is introduced in the first and second chapter .The different character of Marriage customs at the times of the republic of China in Shandong is written in the remnant chapter.It is written that the interference of government makes a difference for the marriage customs at the times of the republic of China in Shandong in the third chapter. In feudal, the ruler curb marriage customs with Liuli. The government of the republic of China established many laws and regulations to menace it too. It goes without saying that these interferences are more helpful than in feudal. However, it did not play an important role at that time.The Marriage customs takes on a great regional discrepancy since the different areas of the Shandong has different environment of nature and culture. The East of Shandong is under the influence of coastal and the culture of Qi. The central region is influenced in the farming civilization and Lu culture. The culture of canal is still existence in West Shandong. Hence, it is an important goal to discuss the differences of the marriage customs in different region in Shandong.Modern industrialization development brought great changes of society. The change of Social class consisting is one of the most important aspect. The tradition society of Simin was discomposed and constituted some new ranks at the same time. Therefore, it is important to research the variation and invariability of the marriage customs of different classes.As a culture, marriage customs have the relative independence. Hence, it can exist beyond space and time limit and across different historical stages. Even are the Liuli still seen today everywhere. Hence, it will be researched in the sixth chapter that the marriage customs of existing in the traditional culture of trace. Not only the common people marriage customs in traditional culture consciousness is still existence, and intellectual elites also failed to completely avoid the influence of the tradition culture. Their marriage was eventually into traditional marriage.Traditional marriage customs still occupied the mainstream position of marriage at the republic of China period in Shandong. Only in a small scope is the so-called civilization marriage popular. That is the significant character of wedding at republic of China period in Shandong. The influence of countries, rights, culture and geographical environment for marriage customs are displayed in the remnant chapter.
