The Secret History of Mongols extant was the Mongolian volume spelling in Chinese syllable. Words and grammars worm were annotated in Chinese characters one by one next to the Chinese syllable, named side translation. At present, all the aspect of The Secret History of Mongols are constantly studied deeply and detailed. However the studies of side translation, particularly the studies of grammatical form have not been studied systematically. This study analyzes the different forms of the side translation of Adjective Verb (except for-qu2,-qui2,-qun2) inThe Secret History of Mongols, investigates the patterns and illuminates the meanings.The Thesis consist of four part:the Introduction, Chapter I, Chapter II and Appendix.The Introduction includes purpose, methods, significance, prototype and overview of the research.The Chapter I introduces the form and character of Adjective Verb of mediaeval Mongolian, along with the opinion of experts about these forms. Then expound systematically the form (except for-qu2,-qui2,-qun2) of Adjective Verb in The Secret History of Mongols.The Chapter II figures and interprets the side translation of different forms (except for-qu2,-qui2,-qun2) of Adjective Verb in The Secret History of Mongols. Finally, the Appendix makes a list of additional forms of Adjective Verb and the side translation in The Secret History of Mongols.
