Xu Yuan Translated Into English By Tang Practice Research

Professor Xu Yuan Chong is a famous translator of our country.In the 60 years career of transltion ,he has made a lot of rich and very creative translting practice ,receiving substantial achievements and wide concern both at home and abroad .Being the embodiment and the fountain of his translating aesthetics ,professor Xu's translating Tang Poetry into English is one of the most imortant parts in the whole of his practice ,representing its climax and having a lot of research value.Up to now ,a lot of research has been undertaken in the academic circles both at home and abroad, bearing fruit very much. However, the research on professor Xu in the view of the Translating Study in Comparative Literature has been rare, awaiting more devotion.Under such a background ,it's decided that the Study of Translation in Comparative Literature is chosen as the view of undertaking the research in this article. At first, this article mainly arrange professor Xu's translting practice of 60 years in chronological order, summarizing each state of the three stages in it,and briefly commenting on the three different ones and the works corresponding to each of them . Next, it mainly analyzes the practice and its characteristic of Xu Yuanchon's translating Tang Poetry into English by the theory of MEDIO-TRANSLATOLOGY. The analysis put emphasis on his purposely translating practice of creative treason according the three beauties translaing princeple,i.e. beautiful in sense, in sound and in form . Then, it put emphasis on analyzing Xu Yuanchon's translating aesthetic thoughts ,deeply inquiring into the historical origins of its forming as well as its inheriting and developing from the traditional translating theory .And it also deeply analyzes and comments professor Xu's translating theory which is further improved by the practice of translating Tang Poetry into English, finding out its worth .At last, It gives an overall appraisal of Xu Yuanchon's translating practice ,acknowledging his achievement as well as his inheriting and developing from the traditional translating study in the field of translation theory, believing the 60 years career of Xu Yuanchon's translating, especially the practice of translating Tang Poetry into English, has made great contribution to the development of world literature and the cultural undertakings of the entire humanrace.
