"three Kingdoms" In The Polyphony Function Words

The author of this thesis discusses 240 disyllabic function words on History of the Three Kingdoms. This thesis studys meaning and con- strution and grammar classification and function of these words. It analy- ses every synonyms of disyllabic function word and every disyllabic func- tion word that their word order can exchange. This thesis points out some problems that The Chinese Great Dictionary and some treatises didn't collect some disyllabic function words or collected some disyllabic function words lately. It provides concrete data for the history of Chinese vocabulary. Many disyllabic function words have appeared in History of the Three Kingdoms. Every word 'building has emerged in 240 words. Compound word 'building had been used more than any else in word ' building. According to incomplete statistics, we find that 80 new words and 51 words which come from the preceding stage in 131 disyllabic function words. It proves that change and bring forth new ideas are an important distinguishing feature of History of the Three Kingdoms. Though this book had been written with classical Chinese, many new words had appeared because the author of the book had been impacted by the times. This book should have occupied an important position on the study of the history of Chinese, but because we didn't pay attention to it and had a misconstrue on it, we had some mistake in the study of lan- guages and the compite of dictionaries.
