Chuan-dian area includes Sichuan and Yunnan province. There are many Cist-tombs in the west of Sichuan province, northwest and middle of Yunnan province. Most of the graves last from Shang-zhou dynasty to Han dynasty, and they are the main relics of this area. In order to know the history of that time in this place, it's very important for us to study this type of tomb.The phenomena of this kind of grave in this region are very complex. Based on the typological study and some theory of anthropology, the article classifies these cist-tombs into two areas, named north-Sichuan area and middle-Yunnan area. The author comes to the conclusion that the environment would influence on the economy and culture of the people who were the masters of the graves, and some types of Chuan-dian area are related to the bronze culture of Gan-qing area.
