After reviewing the discovery and research on the Xi'an mural tombs in Tang Dynasty, this article notes that our academe has paid less attention to male clothing in paintings. Therefore, the article chooses to study male clothing found in Xi'an mural tombs during Tang Dynasty.First of all, through the collation and observation of basic data, the article discusses the possibility of classifying different elements of male clothing on the murals. Among them, I do the typology analysis on both "Fu Tou" and "Pao Fu", which are the largest and have the most significant elements for classifying, in order to divide their evolution phases. And I sort both elements into three phases.Secondly, based on the division of "Fu Tou" and "Pao Fu", the article classifies all elements of male clothing on the murals into three phases, and meanwhile summarizes the various styles and characteristics in different stages of male clothing. After that, in use of the literatures, the article analyzes several important elements of male clothing, in a simple comparison to the mural male clothing. In conclusion, I finds murals have one-sidedness and lagging when reflecting the history. Finally, from this staging results and comparative study with the literatures, the article can give good examples for classifying the tomb murals in Xi'an, Tang Dynasty. Moreover, the article can take important part in dividing the tomb murals with few artifacts and unclear dating, in Xi'an during Tang Dynasty.
