After many years of studying in our art educational systerm., I have learned a lot, but the more familier I am with the main idea and the way of teaching the more I can see it's drawback . and I also participated in the citysculpture building, so I find out our city sculpters also have lots of problems. It's my only porpurse to communicate with others and point out where the problems are and how to solve them. This way the whole condiction might be signifficantly improved. The way I did it is really simple, the basic rule is trying to be close to the truth, Which means I say only what I saw or feel. In other words , the more objective the better. I promise that everything I claimed has been supported by plenty of evidence. Which contains the direct experience of working. Actually, making art works is a simple, highly emotional task, that is too simple and specific to be called a theory. As long as you can keep yourself closely associated with your own. Feeling, you can difinately come to a objective conclusion.I have reached 3 conclusions as follow:Firstly, the true value of sculpture lies in it's beauty not in idea. In other words, a good sculpture has to be beautiful in tern of its appearance, otherwise it could have been a mass of waste.Secondly, if you want to master the skill of making it, you have to have a clear instinctive or even childish brain, and everything have to be gradually accumulated. Just like what Zhang Da Qian has told us: unless you stored a wild range of desing in your mind, you can not be called a qualitive artist. The last, but not the least. Chinese contemporary city sculptures are far from satisfactory and should be enriched by really talent sculpture signficantly in a inovitive. creative way.
