Lukacs’ philosophical thoughts, especially his philosophy ontology thought, have aroused the interest of more and more scholars. Most of them focused on his early works "History and Class Consciousness", and relatively, they paid less attention to his later masterpiece "The Ontology of Social Being". In fact, the latter, in particular for its fourth chapter, the basic principles of Marx’s ontology, is of great research value. That to know Lukacs’ interpretation of Marx’s principles clearly has profound meaning for our better understanding of Lukacs’ social being ontology thought and Marx’s philosophical ontology.Lukacs divides the basic principles of Marx’s ontology into three parts, working principle as dominated, totality principle and historical principle. In his view, Marx understands the social existence from the angle of labor, and labor is intermediary part of nature, man and society, which work by labor. With the effects of the teleological commitment of labor, the nature becomes material basis of social existence and social development, meanwhile labor makes it possible for man and the nature to exchange material, and it is labor that functions specifically in establishing social relations between man and man. Therefore, labor is, in essence, the mutual connections between man and the nature, between man and man. Lukacs gives working principle its most important and leading place as Marx’s ontology, while totality principle and historical principle are inherently included. He assumes, when Marx based on labor to understand social existence, the social existence, as an organic integrity, is a process of historical formation and change with the reciprocal influence of various factors.By reconstructing the Marx’s ontology on the basic of three principles, Lukacs’ philosophical thoughts has achieved great success. He confirms working principle plays a core role in Marx’s ontology; totality principle is a starting point to reconstruct Marxist philosophy; historical principle is basic of social existence. And all of these thoughts are closest to Marx’s views. On the other hand, in his reconstruction of Marxist ontology, the language is too obscure to understand easily, and many of his thoughts need a further discussion.
