Based on the data of archaeology, inscriptions on bones and documents. This paper mainly discusses the agriculture in Shang Dynasty. Three are six parts in this paper.In the first part, the paper discusses the important role agriculture plays in Shang Dynasty on the basis of inscriptions on bones, documents and excavation records.The second part mainly discusses the main types of cereals in Shang Dynasty such as broomcorn millet, millet, wheat, rice, flax, sorghum and so on.The third part introduces the farm implements in Shang Dynasty, plouging tools (pickaxe, ploughshare);tillage implement(shovel, hoe); reaping tools(sickle) ect, the implements and tools are made of stone, bone, clam, shell, wood and pottery, sharp brone wares are also used.The fourth part elaborately introduces the process of farming, In Shang Dynasty, people broke with the slash-and-brun method and did not live off natural resources any longer, the process of farming involved in clearing, plouging, sowing, cultivating, reaping and preserving.The fifth part elucidates the significant influences on Shang Dynastywith the development of agriculture. The content covers four aspects.
