"a Dream Of Red Mansions" And "emma" A Comparative Study Of Narrative Art,

From the angle of narrative artistry, we make a comparative study between the Chinese classical masterpiece A Dream of Red Mansions and the famous British novel Emma in this paper. The paper includes three sections. In the introduction, we briefly state the composition of the paper, the background of the subject selection and the issue of comparability. The main body of the paper is divided into three chapters. In chapter I ,we make comparisons between the two novels from the angles of narrative structure, narrator and ironic narration. In chapter II, we discuss the similarities and the differences between the two works from the aspects of narrative perspective, voice and pattern. And in chapter III, the narrative time is probed into, especially the issues of narrative pace and rhythm. In the conclusion, we intend to conform the full text with the concept narrative style; and at last, we introspect the deficiencies this paper may possibly contain.
