Origin and Development of Chinese New Literature in full of contradictions. In order to resist the hegemonic speeches of the left wing and the right wing in humanism field, Zhou Zuoren held that humanistic science had no absolute right or wrong; in order to make use of the authority of science, he then claimed his own historical narrative to be scientific and without fabrication; in order to oppose the left and the right wing's theory of literature utility decorated with the honorable titles of state, nation and morality, he insisted on the uselessness of literature; but taking his own stand that individualism and humanism were unified and doubting false ideologies, valuing science and anthropocentrism were in one, he argued that literature was useful and expressing ideals wan not antagonistic to bearing morality. To meet the need of wearing the plats of "transmigration" ,Zhou Zuoren narrated the late Ming Dynasty and Yuan Zhonglong respectively to be an age of absolutely expressing ideals and a figure with modern characteristics of individual independence. At the same time, it is a contradiction of him to looked upon new literature as the renaissance of late Ming literature. The Construction of transmigration historical ideology, originates prom the narration's wing's idea control and his worries and apprehension about that the individual liberation, the new culture with free thoughts aud the new literature would follow the same misfortune as theirs in late Ming Dynasty. The above is the narrator's narrative strategies. On the other hand there are a complex of fear of transmigration and a ideological system of transmigration in the narrator's heart. Nietzsche, Ellis and other philosophers provided him with the philosophical concepts of transmigration, genetics, psychoanalysis and le Bon's national psychology enabled him to find the psychological and physical mechanisms of transmigration, and the cultural anthropology and Le Bon's mass psychology helped him find the carrier of transmigration-- the masses, national inherent weakness, Bagu (a stereotyped writing)and so on construction the substance of transmigration. As an unconscious destiny, transmigration is unchangeable, on which Zhou Zuoren's pessimism forms. However, the consciousness of the unconsciousness produces hopes of understanding and influencing destiny. This essay holds that, among Zhou Zuoren's ideas one extremely important and distinguishing basic concept in transmigration(consciousness of unconsciousness; " activity out of passiveness" ).
