On Media Literary Criticism

Mass Media Literary Criticism ,a popular form of literary criticism in recent years , means the critical articles published in mass media, In this thesis ,we try to discuss this new critical form from six aspects: the differences between Mass Media Literary Criticism and traditional literary criticism; the characteristics it shows; the special ways it uses ;the significant as well as disadvantages it brings, and the questions that needing to face in the next step.Mass Media Literary Criticism differs from traditional criticism in many aspects. First of all, the carrier is different. The carrier of Mass Media Literary Criticism is mass media, while the carrier of the literary criticism is learned journals. Second , the writer is different .the writer of Mass Media Literary Criticism includes not only some of critics ,but also some of editors, repoters and publis. Thirdly, the recipient group is different, he recipient of Mass Media Literary Criticism is any one who is regularly in touch with mass media. Fourthly , the goal is different ,the aim of Mass Media Literary Criticism is to supply entertainment. Fifthly ,the ways to express it is different .The critical articles in mass media often use news-expression. Sixth, the value standard is different.The value of Mass Media Literary Criticism lies in the fact that it is prompt, important, and interesting.Mass Media Literary Criticism shows several characteristics that we should research ,to choose ,to arrange, to set agenda for the public.Mass Media Literary Criticism persuade and guide the public by some skills : relaxed tone ,humorous and sarcastic style ,writing short articles and relating to people with general knowledge .These skills can bring entertainment and make the public accept the articles without any pressure.Although Mass Media Literary Criticismis is very popular in recent years and has some advantages ,it also has some disadvantages.
