Fighting The Poet: On Hu Feng Criticized The Practice And Its Cultural Destiny

The spirit of fighting subjectively is the quintessence of Hu Feng's theory. Hu Feng puts his theory into practice, revealing the poet image of fighting. This paper has expounded Hu Feng's spiritual characteristic, through his practice of criticism, and made an in-depth analysis of Hu Feng's cultural destiny.This paper consists of four parts.The first part is about the features of Hu Feng's realistic theory. The influence from ideology, his pursuit of Lu Xun in spirit and his personality have formed his contradiction.The second part is about Hu Feng's practice of criticism. Fighting, independence and suffering is the style of Hu Feng's practice, which is highlighted through the comparison with Lu Xun, the main stream and the non-center. His practice has influenced the school of July. The pursuing of Lu Xun and the succeeding to the spirit of modern intellectual is carried out through his life.The third part is about the analysis of Hu Feng's cultural destiny. Hu Feng is different with the main stream on the point of writing for whom, what and how. The difference displays the conflict between the spirit of modern intellectual and the remark of ideology. The reform and control of the May Fourth, Lu Xun and intellectual is a predicament to Hu Feng. The failure of Hu Feng reveals the poet image of fighting through his modernization, personality and independence.The last part is about the thought of Hu Feng's cultural destiny. The contradiction and defect of himself have prevented him from persisting.
