The specialty of the study of the history of Mongolian society and life ('古社会生活史) is that it mostly depends on the analysis of literature which was written by the authors who were not Mongol. Through this literature we can understand the status of the Mongolian society in that period. And, the record 《Pei-lou feng-su (北虏风俗)》 is about Mongol life and customs written by the minister of Ming Dynasty of China.According to the records of 《Pei-lou feng-su (北虏风俗)》 , we can look into Mongol life and the status of their tribes in the 16th century. One may simultaneously discuss the movement of the life of Mongolian tribes in their special circumstances during 16th century, discovering the reason and background of the transformation in order to grasp the features of the Mongol's life and custom.And we may uncover the idiographic lifestyle and consciousness of the Mongol, and review the varied contours of that society.
