Language is a combination of sound and meaning, which are always combined at will in each language. Onomatopoeias are words that describe sounds. Different language has different method to describe sounds in the real world with different sound and rhythm system, in order to make a more graphic and lively language. Even for the same sound such as a bird singing or a whistle, the results that people in different nations or using different language mimic the same sound and the shape may differ. But onomatopoeias in different language also have something in common, because of the biological system of human being.Onomatopoeia is a language form that describes according to the sounds which are recognized. Although onomatopoeia is restricted by the national emotion and the language structure, It is necessary to do the comparative research on the onomatopoeia between different languages. Such research can guide foreign language teaching, translation and sound research effectively. This paper tries to show the differences between onomatopoeia in Chinese and Korean in a deeper arrangement through theoretical analyze..There are plenty of onomatopoeias in both Chinese and Korean. Thisproblem have been appealed great attention for a long time in Korean language, but most researches were limited to explain the symbolic meanings of consonants and vowels, the function of the overlapping, the harmonious rule of language, and so on. Because the original components were completely remained in onomatopoeias, so onomatopoeias were always attached importance to in the words system of the Korea. More attentions of researches in Korean are paid to form such as words constituent and sound symbol of consonant and vowel. Researches on grammars, meaning, passage are not carried out in a deep-going way.The history of researches on Chinese onomatopoeia is a course that from the time in which onomatopoeias were researched in other words category as a attachment to onomatopoeias were recognized as a separate category , and then the key problems of it were seen such as the category of onomatopoeias, overlapping form and grammar function. In a word, researches on Chinese onomatopoeias were focused on signal and belonging problem, its independence and dealing with the differences among different languages, which is concentrated on the comparison in Chinese-Japanese translation and Chinese-Russian translation.This paper will demonstrate from tone, grammar and meaning, using the comparing method in language research as the main method. In the instruction part, the purpose and the significance of the research, the result of researches made by senior, the research methods are introduced。The conclusion part concludes the main idea of the whole passage.The paper body includes such three parts as below:The first part is about the comparison on sound of Chinese and Korean onomatopoeias. The research, statistics and classify aim at the onomatopoeias which are found in both Chinese and Korean onomatopoeia dictionary, including the characteristic of syllable structure as also. Resource of Chinese onomatopoeias are chosen in the 800 or more onomatopoeias in the "onomatopoeias dictionary" that is compiled by Gong liangyu. Examples and explanation are from "onomatopoeias explanation", which is as a supplement, compiled by Wang wanren. Korean onomatopoeias mainly refer to the 1092 or more onomatopoeias in "national language category dictionary", and word explanation are from Korean onomatopoeias category dictionary.The second part is analyzing the combining characteristic of the onomatopoeias and the function of the onomatopoeias separately,The third part discusses the characteristics of the onomatopoeias,.The main idea of this paper is as bellow:Based on the characteristics of function, both in Korean and Chinese, onomatopoeias should be became the independent word class.The content and component of Chinese and Korean onomatopoeias are different because of the nationality of sign. But for the compose of sound, the two languages have some common using. Limited toonomatopoeias, the number of the harmonious vowel of Chinese is more than Korean, and Chinese has many stentorian sound. When pronounce onomatopoeias, the agile use of tongue is very important. Based on the research on frequency using of vowel and consonant in Korean and Chinese onomatopoeias, in the aspect of sound, the consonant of the corresponding reflect that ' (?)-g, (?)-l,(?)-d, (?)-h', and the vowel of the corresponding reflect that ' (?)-a, (?)-e,(?)-i, (?)-u, (?)-o', including the high vowel that '(?):i'. following graph is the corresponding of vowel in Korean and Chinese.All the extreme sound is the composing component of Korean and Chinese onomatopoeias which provide condition for the pronunciation of onomatopoeias. The author puts forward the hypothesis that the artful sound corresponding may be expressed by other language of oriental countries including Korea and China. About the syllable structures, Korean have more kinds, 6 words at most; and Chinese, 4 at most. Alsothere are more double-syllable and four-syllable onomatopoeias in Chinese. For rhetoric, there are both similarities and differences in the consultant of grammar. For the writing style, the word-building function of Korean onomatopoeias are outstanding; the rhetoric character of pun, comparison, exaggeration is outstanding.
