Since the Chinese Musician Association set up the Music Grading Test for four kinds of musical instruments in the year 1988, the activities of Music Grading Test for amateur process flourish year by year. In 1992, the Jiangsu Musician Association also started the violin Music Grading Test for amateur in the range of the whole province. Until now, there are four institutions in Nanjing organizing the activities for Music the violin Grading Test, and it has the tendency of increasing. These activities trained tens of thousands of children in this old city of great culture into violinists and musicians, and boosted the spreading of the musical culture. These activities offered great platform for the quality education of youth, too. They also enhanced the cultivation of local citizen and the artistic environment in Nanjing, and contributed a lot to the boom of culture in Nanjing. But we should also realize another point with clear head by the same time. With the increase of the population studying violin and other musical instruments, the society requires higher and higher level of standards, systematic methods and contents of Musical Grading Test, and the drawbacks of Music Grading Test system also begin to manifest in some content. This article makes the attempt to reflect the actual situation and feature of the violin Musical Grading Test in Nanjing by investigating, comparing and analyzing the current situation in Nanjing from macro scope to micro scope by studying the establishment and development of Music Grading Test in China, the survey in the area of Nanjing and the content of Musical Grading Test in Nanjing.
