Xi Xiang Ji had been receiving more attention from many researchers since it was published. Once it came into being a fever of research, Jin's Comments of Xi Xiang had the most important influence in all critical texts of Xi Xiang Ji. Ji Shengtan carried on modifying when he was criticizing Xi Xiang Ji. This text carries on the comparison between the modified parts of characters between Jin's Comments of Xi Xiang and Wang's Xi Xiang. The text adopts two methods: analyse the text and caparative research, hackles the difference and similar, compares their goodness and badness. Ji Shengtan's criticism arised from his theories of drama characters'criticism, which requested the characters'animadversion to match the standard of appropriating character's language. As Compared with Wang's Xi Xiang, his corrections had its excellence, as well as its shortcoming. Speaking for the stage performance, Jin's critical text really had the badness of performance on the satge; But enjoyed from the appreciation of literature, it really could perform characters'personality and mental variety, which made the words and deeds of characters matched the social status and environment. This article begins with preface, ending with appendix, while the corpus part is divided into three. The preface part commences with the present research on Wang's Xi Xiang and Jin's Comments of Xi Xiang, and then looks back the research process, makes the simple analysis to the realm of research. The end is to reveal and analyze briefly that only a little has been done to compare their characters with each other.Chapter one is about the changes of the image of Cui Yingying, reviewing right from the differences of the characters of Cui Yingying, three sections contained. Section one is intended to study the rebel spirit of Cui Yingying, a flashlight in Wang's Xi Xiang. Such spirit was eliminated and changed into being reserved and observing formality. That's because Jin Shengtan criticized characters by putting them into feudal formality. The latter two sections are to compare the different personalities of being clever and being reserved that lie inside Cui Yingying. As Jin Shengtan was good at observing psychologically, these two personalities were thought to have changed from Wang's simple performance to Jin's artistic performance. It's true to conclude that the way of showing and shaping characters tended to be more details and more colorful.Chapter two is to analyze the change of the image of Zhang-Sheng, containing three sections. The first section is comparing Zhang-sheng's different attitudes towards imperial examination. Zhang-Sheng's despising and regarding imperial examination apparently suggests the changeable attitudes to imperial examination between the two generations of literators like Wang Shifu and Jin Shengtan. The second section is to compare the various temperaments of this young scholar lying and shown in Wang's and Jin's compositions. He seems to turn right off from a gigman to a complete adherent of Kong Zi. Section three is meant to analyze his different feelings towards Cui Yingying. He was once an absolute lover, and makes us feel a little acid. However, his character was shown artistically further and further. Jin Shengtan made up his dream bel-esprit, basing on his own rules of criticizing characters. That's why Zhang-Sheng changed so much.Chapter three, divided into two sections, is intended to observe the changing images of Hong-Niang and Old Lady. As we can see from Wang's Xi Xiang to Jin's Comments of Xi Xiang that the scholastic spirit of Hong-Niang was reduced and it's easier to understand what she says. The dramatic piece"Kao Yan"(拷艳)is paid more attention to analyze her goodness, brightness and her glib debate. With regard to the changing image of the Old Lady, it was briefly narrated that she is strict with her daughter being a representative of feudatorial parents system, while the Old Lady's being fond of her daughter is emphasized. Chapter four"the Claims of Jin's Criticizing Drama"intends to conclude from theory, basing on the analysis and comparison of characters above. As for his criticizing of characters, he insisted on the request of"the characters'animadversion to match the standard of appropriating character's language". It's also a basic theoretic point of his criticizing and adapting Wang's Xi Xiang .Appendix is"the involved adaptation caused by who lives in the Xi Xiang", basing on deciding the comparison of the differences of who lives here, which lies in Wang's and Jin's compositions. Its aim is to reveal how the stage scene and characters'speech in Jin's Comments of Xi Xiang change, right as a result of the different supposition who lives here.
