Under the condition of current market economy, competition pressures between individuals have been increasingly intensified. Meanwhile, they are becoming the inevitable problems for the college students. Faced with all kinds of competition and pressures from many aspects, especially from employment, which add to the intense interpersonal relationship, college students begin to have growing psychological problems. Thus their psychologically healthy conditions are now being seriously worried.While we are dealing with all kinds of the college students' psychological problems, we have to make deep reflections on the teaching objectives of music appreciation lessons in college. Since long time ago, people always think that the objectives of music appreciation lessons in college are mainly to develop the students' ability to appreciate music, which fails to connect it with modeling students' healthy psychology. With growing music appreciation activities, we pay more attention to the relation between music appreciation lessons and psychological conditions. In recent years, serious problems have occurred in college students' psychology, so any teacher of whatever subject has the duty to care about them. Music appreciation lesson is generally a selective course in colleges and due to its lively and colorful contents students have lots interest in it. Therefore, music teachers should make full use of its advantages to help to solve students' psychological problems. This article tries to, with the theory of Floyd's psychology, deal with the function of music education in helping solve college students' psychological problems in several chapters. Music appreciation education helps students know what beauty is and more importantly it has a close relation with perfecting college students' psychology. Only if the connections are made, the value and function of music education are likely to be realized maximally.
