From the perspective of semiotics, the cultural consumption is thesymbolic consumption, is the consumption which appears the culturalproduct and the cultural service with the signifier and signified.This article explains the cultural consumption for symbol come fromthe two angles. On one thing, the culture is composed of the symbol, including the picture symbolic, instruction symbolic and imaginationsymbol. The symbolic significance refers to the signifier and signified, the speech and language. On the other thing, the cultural consumptionmeans the interpretation of the symbolic significance from the semiotics.The moved signifier means the moved significance in the cultural productand the cultural service, the massive significance means the rich functionin the cultural consumption.The paper explains the symbolic practice from the semiotics. In theprocess of the produce and the dissemination, the cultural product and thecultural service can be consumed by the extension explains with themetaphor of the medium, can be accepted by the consumer, can befinished by the consumption ceremony. Of course, the culturalconsumption is the nature and lasted issue, it is related to the totemsymbol worship and the history inherits.At last, in the paper the cultural product and the cultural service aredivided by three parts: the main propaganda material from the officialwords system, the mass popular consumable from the folk words systemand the lofty art from the intellectual words system. The paper alsoconsiders the characteristic of the cultural product and the culturalservice.
