Shaanxi was the broadest province of Ming Dynasty, and was also a border area province. Shaanxi literature in Ming Dynasty was in ebb of the whole history, but there still appeared famous writers, with fluctuation at time. This paper takes the Shaanxi writers in Ming Dynasty as the main research object. Through research for all kinds of historical materials, including local chronicles, the author discovers that there are totally 429 Shaanxi writers who had engaged in literature in Ming Dynasty, and, according to the above, compiled "Memoirs of the Shaanxi Writers of Ming Dynasty "; The Shaanxi writers of Ming Dynasty have totally 42 kind of collected works to survive. The author searches for these earnestly and composes quite detailed "Record" for 24 kinds of collected works, initially finishing the edition of "The Records of the Existing Collected works of the ShaanxiWriters in Ming Dynasty".It is precisely according to these first-hand materials that this article has carried on the quite comprehensive inspection and research for the Shaanxi writers in Ming Dynasty. In front of the main text there is "Foreword" and "Introduction": "Foreword" mainly introduces the significance of the thesis, former research situation, as well as the research object, the research method and my innovations; "Introduction" mainly includes "history of Shaanxi and the survey of Shaanxi in Ming Dynasty ", "the economy and culture of Shaanxi in Ming Dynasty " and"the literature survey of Shaanxi in Ming Dynasty ", and also introduces the division of ages in this paper. According to the time order, the main text successively elaborates the Shaanxi writers in Ming Dynasty: First chapter introduced the writers from Hongwu period to Cheng Hua period, like Zhang Shen and Wang Shu. Second chapter introduces the writers during Hongzhi period. Shaanxi literature developed to crest during this period and detailed elaborations are made to writers like Kang Hai, Wang Jiusi and Zhu Chengyong. Third chapter introduces the writers during Zhengde period, in which the Shaanxi literature still was in prosperity after Hongzhi period.This chapter introduces the lives and composing situations of nearly ten writers, like Wang Jiusi, Xu Zonglu,Hu Zuanzong, Brother Hans and Ma Ruji. The fourth chapter introduces the writers during Jiajing Period, elaborating the basic situation of Shaanxi literature in ebb tide time, the achievements of the relatively prominent writers like Wang Weizhen, Zhao Shi spring, and Qiao Shining.The fifth chapter introduces the Shaanxi writers during Longqing and Chongzhen period, i.e. the late Ming Dynasty. Although Shaanxi literature fell into trough in this period, because of the cultural tradition and the economy, there still appeared the new development of literature. This chapter carried on the inspections and elaborations of Wang Tingxiang, the father and son of the Lais and Wen Fengxiang. A brief "Conclusion" after Chapter Five analyzes and comments the Shaanxi writers and literature development in Ming Dynasty. Finally comes"Memoirs of the Shaanxi Writers of Ming Dynasty " and"The narratives and Records of the Existing Collected works of the ShaanxiWriters of Ming Dynasty".This paper pays much attention to the primitive literatures and the predecessors'studies, uses the method of inspection and comments and simultaneously balances the relationship between case studies and the whole inspections. By all these, the author wishes to make some achievements, and, through the quite comprehensive inspection and research of the Shaanxi writers in the whole Ming Dynasty, to offer some help for the research of Shaanxi literature in the Ming Dynasty, further the study of the entire Ming Dynasty...
