College Students' Internet Use And Personality Traits, Adaptation And Social Support Research

In the recent years, more and more people in our country begin to use internet. In these people most are young, so the Internet Addiction Disorder (IAD) becomes one of the major topics. Both government and scholars give great attention to this topic, and trying to know the reasons resulting IAD. Using questionnaires we select 762 college students as subjects, and probed into the relationship between motivations of internet use, estimate of internet use, personality, adaptation and social sustain. The purpose of this study is to know the factors induce the IAD. In order to take effective step to resolve the problems mentioned above.In the study, we have got following findings:1, Addicts of internet and people going to be addict of internet are different on demological traits, and internet-use behavior traits.2, Motivations of internet use of Fleeing real-world, boring life, avoiding vacuity, attraction of internet, convenience of facility and convenience of social surroundings have differences between people with different degree of IAD.3, Negative estimation of internet use, explicit neuroticism and explicit inferiority, social sustain, adaptation of communication are different between people with different degree of IAD.4, Implicit neuroticism and implicit inferiority are different between people with different degree of IAD.5, Negative estimation of internet use, avoiding vacuity, Fleeing real-world, boring life, attraction of internet, convenience of facility, neuroticism, inferiority, Adaptation of communication, subjective Social sustain and use of Social sustain can forecast IAD. Motivation of internet use, estimation of internet use and personality can directly forecast IAD. Motivation of internet use, personality, social sustains and adaptation can indirectly forecast IAD through the estimation of internet use.
